Everyone wants it bigger and better I want our burdens as light as a feather I want to smell the salty sea I want to be light on my feet Everyone wants their love on sale Everyone wants to ride the rail I think it’s time we finally count the cost Everyone wants a love that’s easy Like and share but you feel lonely I think it’s time we finally turn it off Head down for this dopamine upper Face glow, sleepless it’s a bummer Instant feeling, virtual greetings Swipe to give me digital meaning It’s simple and fleeting Everyone wants their love on sale Everyone wants to ride the rail I think it’s time we finally count the cost Everyone wants a love that’s easy Like and share but you feel lonely I think it’s time we finally turn it off But it turns me on

Stuck in the middle, stuck in the middle Lost it a little, lost it a little But I know I will find my way Or should I live out the grind Fall into line I know that I Let the dream slip Let it drift to the back of my mind Stuck in the middle, stuck in the middle Stuck between my past and my future like a riddle All that I touch turns to rust, dust, blood Even our love

Rat King 03:13
I’ve seen the blood moon beaming I’ve seen the rat king writhe All the wild creatures out dancing When the pressure starts to rise You roll over to your side Nothing louder than your sigh Let’s sleep this one off, dear But I toss and turn all night We’ve had deeper joy the past few weeks And words as harsh as April snow We’ve been searching for the Eucharist But it’s the bitter herbs that grow We been down this low before We tried to swim across the Red Sea The good lord wouldn’t calm the waves He’s walking on water just out of reach

Sleep 02:36
I’ve been up late Too tired to sleep I’ve had big dreams too far gone to grieve I’ve been wishing on a star that has died All my coins tossed in the well that has dried The blood drains from my arms They hang loose at my side I can’t reach, I can’t reach Too far gone to grieve

Global Man 03:27
I am a global man like you I’ve already lost a few good friends Who like a leaf drift on The slightest breeze I am a global man like you But here I am and there you go I’ve laid my roots, but you don’t know Where to call home Lets make these last few moments worth it I’ve always hated long goodbyes Spin the globe, there you are A text away, but way too we still collab, I track your parts You wrote a song, a song about me I’ve lost my mind while wondering If what you find, wandering Is tinder for these fragile nests We call our hearts I’ve lost my heart while wondering If I can close, my split ribcage I strummed some chords, you sang your song then flew along Spin the globe, there you are A text away, but way too we still collab, I track your parts You wrote a song, a song about me Fold the map, close your eyes Picture me, by your side I make you tea, we talk all night we write a song, we make your record Let's make these last few moments... Let's make these last few moments... Let's make these last few moments... worth it

about

You know when you have a dream, but then the practicality of real life hits you and you have to put that dream on the shelf? That's the journey I want to take you on as you listen. Moments of complete hopelessness (Sleep) are peppered with the bittersweet of saying goodbye to good friends (Global Man). Rat King explores the tangled mess of human relationships, when so often all we can muster up is a sigh. Bigger/Better is the song for anyone that feels the pressures of having a curated and photogenic public life that is both monetized and impactful, yet desperately craving a life of purpose and simplicity. If you've experienced your own mental health valleys and these songs speak to the aches and joys of your existence, I will consider it a job well done. May your 2022 be Mountains.
